Recycling and Trash Removal
STICKS – Curbside Pick Up – May 6th thru May 10th 2024 & October 1st thru October 7th 2024
- Sticks must be piled at street curbsides no later than 9:00 am during event days. Please do not overload piles of sticks (do not exceed 4ft in height) and place all cut ends of sticks in the same direction. Do not include yard clippings, leaves, dirt, garbage, construction materials, plastics, metal, stumps or other of types of debris. LEAVES – Curbside Pick Up – October 1st thru November 30th 2024
- Leaves must be piled in rows at street curbsides no later than 9:00 am during event days. Please place rows along the curbside edge of the public street, not in travel lanes. Leaves must not contain debris like garbage, plastics, sticks, metal or brush. Piles should be no more than 3ft – 4ft feet wide by 3ft in height. DUMP YOUR JUNK – Lake Alliance Park – May 18th 2024 & October 19th 2024 – 8 am to Noon (or when dumpsters are full)
- Potterville City residents (only) may drop off junk mattresses, couches, iron, steel, misc. metals, glass, washers/dryers, refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, and/or other large rubbish items at no extra charge on event days. Residential rubbish only. Commercial disposal is strictly prohibited. No construction materials or grass clippings are allowed. No tires, PCBs, lead batteries, liquids, hazardous waste, chemicals, paint and/or yard waste. Proof of City residency is required. All disposable items should be delivered to the Lake Alliance Park Compost Area during event hours. NOTICE Eaton County recycle dumpster locations in the City of Porterville and Village of Sunfield have been closed and discontinued. EATON COUNTY RECYCLING LOCATIONS
Eaton County Recycling Facilities operate under controls of the local municipality of which the location resides and is open to all Eaton County residents. County Recycling Programs and collection events coordinated by the Department of Resource Recovery are made possible through a surcharge paid by Eaton County residents on their waste hauling bill at a rate of $0.60 per month. The revenues provide some assistance to area recycling sites as listed below:
